Note: If you are unsure about coming Sorting or think you and your horse may not be able to do it, please feel free to come and watch.
There is no charge to come and watch and you will see how easy Team Ranch Sorting is, you do not have to bring a complete team when you come either as to many people come on their own and then we make up the teams.

Don't be shy come on out and give it a try.

followed by:
A Team Sorting Jackpot Run
followed by:
A One-on-one"Winner Take All Run"

A Basic Description, Sorting is a timed event where three mounted riders have 10 cattle in the end of the arena marked with visible numbers from 0 -9.

The starting number will be announced, your are to start with the starting number and continue in numerical order (your number is 6, you must first sort out number 6, then 7,8,9,0,1 etc.).

You will continue until all the cattle are sorted or until you run out of time.

The objective of this event is to have FUN.

Practice Nights - Jackpots

1 - Have fun - practice is still only $20 per person. 4 runs per team.

2 - Win at Team Sorting - Prize money depends on how many teams enter and how much is in the pot.
Entry fee is $10 per person no extra cattle charge. One entry limit.

1. 3 person teams will be drawn by numbers.

2. Each team will get one run.

3. Prizes are awarded based on either (a) the best time - 90 seconds or less - all cattle sorted (b) the most cattle sorted with no trash in 90 second or less

4. The judge's ruling is final.

5. Prize money is divided as follows:

· 1 to 3 teams - winning team takes all
· 4 to 6 teams - 1st & 2nd prizes
· 7 teams or more - 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes

In the event that an odd numbered team (only 2 persons) exists a designate will fill in. Designates do not win money on the team they are assigned. Designates who sign up agree to participate with the team to the best of their ability. Designates will be rotated where possible to maintain fairness throughout the series.


3 - Win the One-on-one - Prize money depends on how many people enter and how much is in the pot.
Entry fee is $2 per person. One entry limit.
1. Steer numbers for entrants will be drawn in secret after all the entries have been made.
2. Timed event: maximum allowed time is 90 seconds. Concurrent runs will be based on the best time. Example: If the best time for a run is 60 seconds all consecutive participants will be buzzed at 60 seconds. If the next best time for a run is 30 seconds all competitors will be buzzed at 30 seconds and so on until the winner is determined.
3. Each participant must maneuver their steer across the finish line in the holding pen to be awarded a time. The line will be marked on the post adjacent to the holding pen.
4. The judge's ruling is final.
5. Winner takes all the prize money.
